We’ve all had pudding in a cup and maybe even in pudding pie, but what else can we put pudding in? Strawberries, of course!
These chocolate pudding filled strawberries are so simple to prepare and only require three ingredients. You’ll need strawberries, a box of pudding mix, and whatever amount of milk your pudding mix calls for (usually 2 cups).
First, slice off the leafy top and a small part of the bottom of each strawberry, just enough to allow the strawberries to stand upright on their own.
Next, scoop out the center of the strawberries. Take care to not cut through the sides or bottom of the berry. I used a curved grapefruit knife, which made the task fairly easy.
Then, prepare the pudding. Have your plate of berries ready and nearby because once the pudding comes to a boil and is ready, you’ll need to fill the strawberries quickly, before the pudding firms up right there in the pot. I used a regular teaspoon to scoop the pudding into the berries, which worked really well and kept any mess to a minimum.
And you’re done! Let them firm up in the refrigerator and serve as is or put a bit of whipped cream on top. Enjoy!
